Al,

You have to use the Post Reply button at the bottom of the page in order to have all the "bells and whistles" for posting messages available...

When you do this... you will find a button below the text entry box that is labeled "image"

...when you click on this button you get a pop-up window with a place to enter the URL for the graphic or photo...

This process will input the appropriate UBB tags to display the image...

The QuickReply button only allows total manual text entry for a post... but if you are familiar with UBB tags you can do everything manually...but why bother when the software allows such great help.

Thanks John. Ed's instructions didn't completely sink into my pre-computer mind. Now I'll work on the size problem.

Thanks for your patience guys. If this works I'll feel 10 feet (meters?) tall.

Good Job! Welcome to the Computer Age Al!

Just out of my own curiosity...What program did you use for resizing the photo?

Like Ed, I use Paint Shop Pro... it is a great program for a small price.

I used the Adobe Photo program that came on my computer. Like the Luger forum, I had to do a lot of trial and error tests with it.

and JOHN D... Please send me an explanation about how this "automatic resizing" feature works on the forum... I know about the Member Gallery feature, but have never seen it before here on the discussion side...or are you the "automatic resizer" ? or is there and "image" button that incorporates this feature?

Hey John..!

OK - I installed a hack a while ago, which I haven't documented... Simply but THUMB instead of the IMG call... It will shrink the horizontal size of the image to 400PX - and build a link to the full picture as a HREF link...

Easy... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

Thanks John D... I just tried it by editing a post in the Other Firearms forum with a photo that was too large... worked great!

Here is the photo after adding the UBB "thumbs"
