Mystery Holster?
Hello everyone. I'm glad to see this site up and running, after first stumbling upon the older site which apparently hasn't been up in a year or so. I'm afraid to say, I'm a newly hooked Luger collector <img border="0" alt="[ouch]" title="" src="graemlins/c.gif" /> , and glad to be here! Yesterday while browsing the Brimfield Fair (for any antique collectors, its about 8sq miles of antiques and other Junk) I came upon a holster. I knew immediately by the shape it was for a luger, and after looking inside, found the long worn imprint of the luger frame against the leather. This particular holster is in none of the books I've researched, however, there is an ebay auction for the same design holster, except the auction is for a new repro I believe. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...&category=4078 The auction says its for either a P-08 or a P-38... the holster I have was clearly used with a P-08. On the inside of the leather flap it reads "1537.B" and "9177". Any information would be great! Thanks everyone!

Eric, I wouldn't call the drop style P38 in your ebay photo a repro. It's the post WW2 W.German military & police issue P38/P1 issue. These are currently quite common here in the US @$50 minty to $25 well worn. TH
