What the hell is it with Lugers?
I just bought a Mauser S/42 is so-so shape three days ago. Now I just put a $200 down payment on a 1920 .30 commercial. I just have to have it!

It's called Lugeritis. It's incurable. The sympoms are fever, cold sweats, and an uncontrolable urge to reach for your wallet when someone even says "lug"wrench.
I went to a Therapist. Now he owns more Lugers than I do. " Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here!"

Maxmanta, relax and enjoy it--it's only a "crisis" if you look at it that way! I do know what you mean though; after owning and shooting many of the different types of firearms over 30 years the Lugers grab hold like no other! Enjoy!

Ron, I think you'd be better off paying for your own lugers, rather than your therapist. TH

Could it be he's been trading his Lugers for the treatments? That could explain a lot!

Actually, it looks like I'm going to have to consign the S/42 for the 1920 commercial. I already have a buyer lined up who will give it a great home.
You can't really appreciate Lugers until you've studied one in person. They're easily one of the most beautifully made handguns ever made. |

There is no question that the Luger is the finest-crafted military-issue auto pistol of all time. I appreciate and enjoy the engineering and craftsmanship it took to produce this fine pistol, and the history associated with it makes it that much better. I fired my only Luger for the first time not long ago, and was thrilled and amazed with it's function and accuracy.
