Default Sad auction

This seller may have some very nice Lugers, but you can't tell it from the photos.

It's a shame he spends so much time listing auctions, but doesn't have the time to "do it right".

This vendor (Ian Campbell and/or Don Fischer) does not enjoy a good reputation amongst collectors...especially the older ones that know when this fellow was active on the gun show circuit.

Best to find other "recommended" dealers such as the folks at FGS, Simpsons, Joe Salter, etc...

Also...some of the Big luger dealers may not get glowing recommendations here on the Forum. A lack of recommendations about some dealers "speaks volumes" as well...

There maybe a reason behind his poor picture taking. This dealer has been discussed many times on this forum. Seardh under "dfk"

I have had dealing with the man in Copperas Cove. Run as fast as you can. Don't look back.

I wonder if he can do Larry pictures. Or Shemp or Curley?

This guy had several SS branded (in the grips) lugers back in the early '90s at a Dallas gunshow. Amazing how many of these "oh so rare" guns came to be assembled at one place - his table. --Back away slowly, I say.

Pete, I doubt he'll respond. You may want to send it to Don and ask him if he's Ian?

Thanks for the advice guys.

It's probably a good thing to bring up a subject like this once in awhile to keep us new guys from going astray.

Ken, I've been watching that guys auctions for a long time too and thought exactly the same thing... You can just tell there's something wrong with his stuff. The pictures are much too consistantly bad and for no particular reason. The "Dont ask for more pictures" and "don't ask the reserve price" are also two big red flags.

I didn't realize that he was infamous too...

A while back he had an LP08 holster on ebay that looked fake, with the same bad photos. The interesting thing was that in his description he guaranteed the piece to be genuine, but then also had a no return policy. I asked him what the point was of guarentee, if he would not accept a return, and he got all indignant, and indicated that if I did not trust him I should not bid, which of course I didn't, and if I recall correctly none else did either.
