No grip safety, longer barrel

Haven't I seen some 6" (or so) barreled Lugers without grip safeties? I'd like to have such, but am too much of a novice to know what to look for.

Rod,

You have seen 1908 and 1916-1917 dated pattern-1914 Navy Lugers. Peruse the Navy Luger forum section for lots more info.

Hi Rod,

I bought this nice 1920's commercial shooter with a replaced 6" "fat" .30 cal. barrel from Tom Heller about 2 years ago for $ 850. Imagine a similar piece would go for nearly $ 950 or so today...

It is a delight to shoot in its .30 caliber and with the well balanced 6" barrel length.

It would be a collectible piece save for the barrel. All other parts are original matching and finish is original. I have the original wooden grips...I use these Italian "swiss" repro grips from the 1960's on the range...and save the old commercial magazine with one of my brown M1929 Swiss magazines for shooting.

It's a beautiful pistol, Pete and a fine Heiser holster! Both of them make me drool.

I hope I never run acrolls a .30 cal. I want to buy. It'd just be another caliber I'd have to reload for!

Seriously, I've sort of been developing a hankering for one when I never thought I'd want anything other than 9 mm.

Pete, As I recall, that was one of my "Germany" marked Pacific Arms barrels from the 1920s & 30s, so perfectly "original" on a 1920 Commerical as to time of mfg. although installed a bit (70 years) later. I do still have a few of these barrels left in stock, but now selling @$250 each. TH
