Holster Refinishing
I recently received a Finnish holster and found the leather to be in very good condition, well formed with no cracking.
It seems the Finns coated the leather with a dark brown finish that one Finnish collector referred to as "paint." At any rate, this holster with very good quality leather has seen multiple scrapes and scratches, leaving light brown areas where the scrapes occurred. The overall appearance is not good, in spite of the fact that it is a good quality holster. Is there a safe way to refinish the leather to a nice dark brown as it was originally? Thanks, Luke

Well, in the absence of any good advice on this, I just jumped in and winged it. The refinished holster looks great. I might have lowered the value of the holster, but I sure improved the appearance.

Luke, I think you did right, although it depends on the leather and holster. I attempted to "fix" up a lousy holster and it got worse!
I think you increased the value... Ed
