Kriegsmarine-marked Luger questions
Hello all,
I did a search hoping to forego the need to ask about this, but couldn't find anything definitive. Also, the pics from a number of relevant posts are no longer available. So, I would like to know... ...what percentage of Kriegsmarine-issued Lugers were Kriegsmarine-marked? I am very reliably informed that many were not, but wondered if anyone here had a documented number. Also, what S/N's attest to a Luger's KM service for those that are not marked? My sincere thanks in advance for any help with these questions... Scott |

Hi Scott,
Welcome to the forum. I,m not a Navy expert. Many Kaiserliche (WWI) Navy Lugers are unit marked. As are Reichsmarine (Weimar) Lugers. Kriegsmarine (WWII / Nazi era) Lugers are kind of hit and miss, and there isn't anyway to tell for absolute certain by serial number range. If you have a Luger in question? Photos would go along way toward a more difinitive answer. Maybe Tom Armstrong, our resident Navy guy will pick up on this thread, and be able to give you a better answer. Ron
