Default Research Help Needed

All,

I have a beautiful Imperial German (Bavarian) Aviators uniform. It is piped as a jaeger uniform but has aviation shoulder boards. The original owner was a recipient of the Order of Max Joseph. There can't have been too many folks who were both former Jaeger Officers and were also Bavarian aviators, much less recipients of the Max Joe. Anyone got any good ideas where to look to research this guy?

It sounds like "Ritter" is some kind of title. What does it mean?

The Aerodrome is a group of WWI aviation enthusiasts, and I see they now have a forum. Give them a shot. http://www.theaerodrome.com/

The 'Ritter von' addition came with the Max Joseph order.
