Default YAML 13--Hollywoodland

YAML 13â??Hollywoodland

Hollywoodland, the story of the mysterious death of â??Supermanâ? George Reeves, officially self-inflicted by a .30 Luger which Reeves owned. The movie is long and rambling, and is only peripherally about the Reeves case.

The first scene of the movie ends on a view of the crime scene, with the Luger on the floor.

It includes Reevesâ??channeled eerily by Ben Affleckâ??receiving the Luger as a gift from Diane Lane as Toni Mannix, wife of studio head Eddie Mannix and woman to whom Reeves isâ?¦beholden.

There are two scenes which portray alternate possibilities for Reevesâ??s death, both of which feature the Luger. It is never seen in gratuitous closeup.

It is not clear whether or not the Luger functions, the action is never seen to operate. Gun shots are accented by hyper-realistic lighting and visual effects.

As much as I like lugers, I'd rather have a "kiss" from Ms.Lane. TH

Tom,

If you haven't already, treat yourself to Ms. Lane in this movie "Under The Tuscan Sun". You will fall in love, again...

It's Ben, the frame is from a longish scene. Makeup and appliances have been artfully contributed to enhance his appearance as Reeves.

I would take the 7.65mm Luger instead.

I wonder what happened to "Superman's" Luger?
