41 byf
hi guys,i'm a new member from ga. i was interested in getting some thoughts\opinions about my byf luger. i know its nothing special, but it is all matching numbers[except mag]. it has some minor pitting on frame, bore is very clean and crisp.i just got it back from having it re blued. i know that is not a good thing,but....... when i got it at a local pawn shop[$450.00] it was GOLD PLATED!! with PEARL GRIPS!!!. any way,the gunsmith got me some very nice repo walnut grips. i think the poor baby is no longer ashamed to be seen in public, and most importantly, no one laughs when they see it. i've got $700.00 in it and was wondering what ya'll think? i will try to post some pics soon.

Welcome to the Lugerforum... Your byf 41 is one of the finest examples of Mauser's firearm expertise... it is a shame that someone insulted it with a flashy gold finish and pearl grips... I agree with General Patton's opinion on the pearl grips...
Under the circumstances, having it properly refinished was not sinful... since the collector value has been dramatically reduced... do enjoy it on the shooting range... it should dazzle you with its ability to group its shots... I owned one that would shoot ragged one hole groups at 25 yards... I totally concur with TACfoley's estimate of its value being what you have in it.
