Export of Rifle
I am anticipating the need to export a firearm, a single shot rifle.
I understand that the export of a firearm requires a person who possess a federal firearms license and also possesses a license to export firearms to other countries. Does any on know of a person who does this for appropriate payment? Very kindly, David |

Simpson's Limited is a licensed importer, and I presume that also means exporter...
I believe that Lugerdoc (Tom Heller) may also be licensed in this area, but check with him... if he isn't, he is bound to know who else can help.

John:
Thank you for your post. Simpon's has posted a notice on their web site that they will only export firearms that have purchased from them. This is not the case for the rifle of concern, so I have thus been looking for an alternative. Very kindly, David |

I have had a bit of experiance in this as of late. If the rifle is pre1898, not export permit is needed. I just recieved a springfield trapdoor in the mail last week, no paperwork needed to ship it.
Leroy's Big Valley guns does a good job, he is working on getting a shipment for me out of Hawaii. Joe Salter lists a couple more on his site. There is someone in Florida as well, just have to remember where iI saw the name..Chip |

Thank you for your information, Chip! I've heard of Leroy's Big Valley Guns and wonder if they have a web site that I might use?
The rifle was made by Mauser in the 1930's. Very kindly, David |

Exports can only be done by FFL dealers who are REGISTERED with the US State Department.
