A request for Prayer...
Members,
As many of you know I am a strong believer in the power of prayer... and for very good reasons which I don't need to elaborate on here. (Those who might be curious can find out by searching the forum for my posts containing the keyword "prayer" ) James 5:16 (King James Version) "... The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." I have just been notified via email that a missionary group from my own local church is located right in the middle of the worst part of the earthquake zone in China... We have received word that they have not been physically harmed, but considering all the chaos that is surrounding them, I request that all who pray, please put them on your prayer list to keep them safe from injury and illness... I know one team member personally, she is the young daughter of a good friend. Her name is Rachel. My thanks in advance for your support.

Hi John, I too believe in the power of prayer and that GOD want's to and is able to do far more abundantly than we can imagine. We will be praying for them. Doug and Cindy

I have found that in calamity's, that "man" steps forward and helps each other out, whether from a nudge from Him or our inate goodness; I will be thinking of these good people, Chinese and USA.

I also will pray for all those that are affected by the quake of all nationalities. Many have lost loved ones in this catastrophe.

75% of the population of the city Yingxiu found dead.. One could hardly imagine the life of the remaining 25% now. It is getting more and more tragic every day..

Between this tragedy and what's happened (and continues to happen, apearently) in Burma are just devastating. My thoughts go out to your people in China, as well as everyone touched in both countries.
It's all just so sad...

Thanks for making the request. I'm praying.
It'd be tough to be a missionary in China without this dreadful earthquake. |

Here I am with another request, and I just realized that I had never posted a followup on this tragedy...
Rachel was evacuated within days of the disaster, and no members of her mission party were injured when this disaster occured! Thanks to all those who offered their prayers for her safety. Now for a new request. Dottie Spitzer, the wife of the late Bob Spitzer (Schwab), a former long time member of this forum, has requested prayers for her brother Larry, who is a 25 year veteran retired police officer who lost his wife after a 15 year battle with cancer. I know that I all I have to do is ask and those of your on this forum that know and believe the power of prayer will not only pray themselves for him to receive a blessing from God that his spirit and heart will be comforted, but will also submit his name and this request to their own church to be added to their prayer chain. Thanks to all who can support this request in advance! regards, John <>< |
