Family Luger - Historical Info Request

Hi, I'm new here and just posted in the Artillery Luger forum so, rather than duplicating a posting (I don't know your protocol here) I am posting this link to the other forum:

The pistol is a 1917 Artillery Luger - I'm interested in any info that might let me know a bit more of its history. Knowing value is interesting but not that important since it really is an item of family significance.

John, no reason to post twice for the same item.

Also, your pictures were huge, I have either shrunk them down, or turned them into links. Plus, please post pictures here.
