Hi Howard,

I may actually have a few rounds of 7mm Weatherby in my "extras" box... I will look when I get home...

Question, since you are test firing the chamber, wouldn't a Remington 7mm Mag be close enough to "fireform" to the chamber to provide the dimensions you need to check? I am Just curious... I have never reloaded these cartridges or had both types in my possession at the same time, but since the headspace is on the magnum rim, I think this might work if the case is close in length to the Weatherby...

Thanks for looking John, having served as an expert witness on several gun related cases, could you see me on the stand saying....I tested the gun with "close"enough ammo.....while any bullet weight is OK, I only test fire with original factory ammo, I am not out to case form no matter where the headspace is taken off of....just trying to do the job more better ! thanks again...

Howard, don't you bill the cost of ammunition for testing to the insurance Co or defense or prosecutor or?

Yes I do Jerry, but in this case, the not to common 7 Weatherby mag will run $40+, and I do not need but 1 or 2 rounds to test fire it.....there is no need to charge my customer for a full box of ammo......just trying to save a buck.

Howard, loyal and thrifty sentiments; but charge him the $40.

Besides, when I see contractors billing the client for $250 an hour, well, $40 seems cheap (that was never me )

2x the pay, cool

I just wouldn't want to be on the stand and have to say to the defense or prosecutor; "Factory Rounds, uh, sure, I think they are"...

Ed Makes an excellent point I failed to think of..Good one ED! You might have saved some proffesional embarasment.
I am cheap too but sometimes the best intentions can backfire. The law of unintended consequences.
Especially in the courtroom...they tend to ask funny questions.
