There is a lousy picture of a "script W" or "M" or "Mr" that I sent into automag (page 46,vol 31,of Auto Mag 1998) . This mark was present at same place as yours on an otherwise unremarkable 1915 LP08. I have subsquently seen an identical mark on a 1916 LP08.I sent a good picture of the two "W" marks to Reinhard Kornmayer, and he had not seen these marks before and had no explaination for their presence. Also, if I remember correctly, there was another "W" marked LP08 reported in Auto Mag. So this mark seems to be characteristic of the LP08 at least from 1915 to 1916, but is probably underreported because the mark is small and can be missed with a casual examination.
