Default True, Shooters still bring $700+

Stopped by a New Hampshire gun shop today and was surprized to find a Luger! The price was a give away before I got to handle it, only $700. It was indeed a shooter, a quite mismatched, poorly reblued 1912 DWM with unmarked replacement barrel and that's what so strange about Lugers. This large shop had plenty of new and used 1911s, including Colts(used) and other hi end autos that could be bought for less, sometimes much less than this old reworked warhorse. Why would someone pay $700 for this Luger? I guess the Luger 'Mystique' will always grab hold of someone. My eye was on a new heavy barreled Rem. police tactical spl in .308 for only $550. Made me wonder more about the prices paid for Luger shooters.
