Jumped headfirst into Lugers
I've been looking for a Luger for my collection for sometime but just never took the plunge. I usually bid on some lots at the Rock Island Regional Auction but have never won. Well the nice folks there sent me their catalogs for teh auction this past weekend. Lo and behold there was a lot with not just one but two lugers, a Colt Lightning and a Smith 22 (incorrectly labeled as a K22 but actually a Pre Model 34). Well I do like Colts and Smiths so I bid on the lot and found out this morning that it is mine.
In a week or two they'll be here and I'll post more pics. Since anyone will be able to look it up in a few days I'll admit that I paid $1,800.00 for the lot. |

The price seems very good but will wait to see some good photos. Also how about your inpressions and experiences with RIA? I've never had the nerve to try them.

Hi David, I have purchased several items through R.I.A. I have found them to be very professional and that they make a good faith effort to describe the items accurately and fairly. That said, I have never bought a real bargain from them. Too much competition, I suppose. Regards, Norm

You got a very nice deal on those. I especially like the looks of the Arty in white.

Pretty cool.....I was watching that one myself. It went above what I was willing to pay before I had a chance to bid on it though. I probably would have had a hard time explaining to my wife that I could turn around and sell the ones I wasn't interested in to recoup some of the funds!
I shot you an I.M. on one of the cut-aways though. |
