Default CROWNS AND BORES

I have a buddy who is a top notch gunsmith and specializes in big bore bench rest shooting and guns. He said the crown can be bad and the bore excellent and the gun will shoot poorly. And, the reverse is also true. [a poor bore with a good crown and it might shoot well!]

In rifles, the condition of the throat is also important for really fine shooting.

I find that the gun usually shoots better than I do! It really humbles me when I put the gun in a rest and shoot a tight group. why can't I shoot that well?

It just proves that old adage.

""MOST PROBLEMS WITH GUNS ARE CAUSED BY THE LOOSE NUT ON THE GRIPS!""
