New to forum

I am a new member to the forum and a OLD retired machinist that got bored with the retirement thing.

I have started up a small shop and am getting into firearms and have always had a soft spot for the Luger.
Had one in my younger days but like the dummy I am I let it get away

I will be lurking and watching for a shooter on the for sale board.

Welcome Bill. Look up member Postino. Read all of his posts, and you will see not only technique, but special tools that are necessary for working on Lugers... He has done some pretty interesting things for an amateur machinist/gunsmith...

My only caution to you is to NOT do any machinist/gunsmith work for money, even from friends without obtaining your federal firearms license... do work for the fun of it, is a different matter...

Thanks for the welcome guys, so far my equipment list includes a Logan 8" shaper, an old Atlas drill press converted to vari DC drive W/reverse, a chi-com mill (hunting for a Bridgeport), a 14X40 PM lathe w/2" tru hole spindle, and the usual junk that you would find in a shop.
Hope to get some insite to the workings of the Luger and learn from this great data base you guys have created

Bill D, Welcome to the "Wonderful World of Lugers". Just remember, as I caution all, LUGER PARTS ARE NOT ALWAY INTERCHANGEABLE, so not a job for parts changers. TH
