Triple- K magazines
A few threads back there was mention of the Triple-K magazines and the fact they were still in business. Are the magazines they offer American made, and if so are they of any quality? They seem to have about 4 varitions and the price seems to be about the same or a little less than Mec-Gars.
I hope I am not beating a dead horse by mentioning this, but if they are American made and are of decent quality, I would prefer buying these over the Mec-Gar. Does anyone have any specific experience with these magazines? Thanks much and have a great weekend..................... |

I believe Triple-K magazines are made in Mexico.

I had one, but never used it. Just sold it recently. The bottom was wood. The wood wasn't too bad either. Look at my avatar, the pic of the P08 has it installed. The magazine button and follower were made of plastic the body is of a light sheet metal. The spring seemed of average tension. No comparing it with an origianl luger mag with quality but it probably would suffice as a shooter mag for a while. Don't know where it was made?

I have two, one i got from dave and the other one from a forum member allso. They work fine and are quality made, the wood bottom ones, which i have look good to, the mag button is a bit smaller than original p08 mags so you have to be careful using a mag loader, but it will work fine with the mag loaders. I highly recomend them.

I have four of them (3 black plastic bottom (1 from Sarco and 2 from Cheaper than Dirt) and 1 wood bottom (from LugerDoc)). I know some do not like the Triple K magazines but my Lugers seem to like them and they feed pretty well, there's decent tension, but I noticed the same thing with the magazine follower button (not a huge deal though). I can't remember where they're made (I want to say in the US because I think that's where the wood bottom one was made but I recycled the packaging ages ago). Might shoot someone like LugerDoc an e-mail as he might know.

I am not a fan of the triple K, don't think they are junk, it is just that the Mec-Gars are so much better made.
Even better are the DDR mags Ed

Although I've no experience with triple-k mags for real Lugers, I have two that I bought to use with some of my Ermas. Comparing them to original Erma mags, they are cheesy looking--the aluminum bottom mounts in a weird and ugly way, and the feed lips make a departure from the originals' shape (IMO to the detriment of proper feeding) ; overall they do not have the look or feel of quality. Maybe they do a better job for the P08.
