Default Serial number and/or initials stamped in Swiss holster

Hello all,

Is it common to find the serial number of a Swiss Luger stamped in ink in its holster? And how often do you find some initials stamped in the same manner (I assume it are the initials from the soldier who carried the Luger)?

I ask this because I saw them stamped in a holster for a M1900.

Thanks in advance,

The serial number would not be too unusual, but an indivual soldier's initials stamped and not simply written in ink would be doubtful.

The stamp is much more likely to be an inspectors, units or manufacturer's stamp.

Aha, I had thought of that too (about the inspector's, unit's or manufacturer's stamp), but I went for the "personal" approach... which is in most cases not the "rational" solution.
In other words: you're right. Thanks for your insights!
