Went to Range today
Has been a long time since I was able to go to the range, and after all going well yesterday, was able to go to the range today.
Shot an artillery with stock - those that have not done so, you really need to pick one up! Had a put-together P38 that I put together, it shot well, a few FTF, but that was because I had not oiled it and forgot oil with me. The Walther 22 shot fine, although I have been told that they like 22 stingers the best? The 45 is an old favorite of mine, and functioned flawlessly, even with semi-wadcutters! After shooting, I went upstairs for the first time and talked to one of the guys, who likes WW2 guns very much. In back they had an artillery stock, but they did not know what it was, so I looked at it, shame was, it was and wasn't. It was one of those Japanese 'toy' ones, funny thing was, it fit on my artillery stock lug nice and tight, but I didn't even ask Ed

Glad you had fun. The wife and I will probably go shooting today (Thanksgiving) before having a nice lunch. Stay safe.

Sounds as though you had a good time, and need to do it more often. I really enjoy my range trips, even though I may be "off" that day(which occurs a lot more these days). There is just something relaxing about putting lead downrange, especially from old handguns.

Sounds good guys.
i didn't ask, but should have, how much is the 'fake' shoulder stock, might have been able to get it cheap. of course, I was hoping it was an imperial stock and i could pick it up for a hundred bucks, but no ed

Howdy Ed,
I went to the range this past Monday to celebrate my 72nd birthday. I took the 8 inch DWM Luger shooter you sold me years ago, my Remiington Rand 1911a1 and several Ruger Vaqueros. After having fum shooting the Luger and 1911a1 the Vaqueros came up to the stage. I use Old Model Ruger Vaqueros in CAS events. All of my Vaqueros are chambered for 45 Colt, ok, if you must 45 long Colt. The Vaqueros at the range with me are pairs which have 7 1/2", 5 1/5" and 4 5/8" barrels. I really enjoy CAS and welcome the opportunity to go to the range to shoot as much as possible with my Vaqueros. |
