Welcome to the forum and thanks for the many detailed pics.

Here goes nothing.
commercial mauser ordered by police ,made for police in 1940. the s/42 on the barrel is puzzling maybe using up old stock or a replacement.
I am curious to see if an expert finds this to be reblued. The sideplate is curious too.
Is there a serial number on the barrel?
Cant help you on price I dont know if its genuine or not.

This is a scarce Mauser Banner Police pistol. The barrel is a replacement.

I believe that while the barrel started out as a S/42 replacement it is original to the gun. During this serial number range in 1940 the data shows that most Police Banner lugers have Su or S/42 stamped barrels.

Is it a reblue? Does the sideplate look east German?

1940 Banner Police, S/42 barrel is proper for these. Sideplate looks good, finish looks good. The grips are prbably unserialed and marked E/655. Only a few thousand made.
