Finally! A genuine 1916 dated Navy model of 1914
One of the lugers, I've "needed" for a while, has finally found its home!
Bought this one from an online ad by a brick and mortar gun shop in Conn. A used, but not too badly abused 1916 Navy, number 4656. Matching except for un-numbered grips and magazine. Really bright bore and just "honest" wear- wouldn't have a pistol with "dis-honest" wear! Now mated with a navy magazine C/M 6953, to keep it all nautical. Thanks for looking.

I'm not an expert on Navy Lugers, but this seems to be a honest one, congrats.

Hi Don, Congratulations on your new acquisition, honest 1916 Navies are particularly hard to find. There are only 203 of this variation known and of these 26 are total fakes and another 8 had their barrels shortened or replaced during the Weimar era.
Best regards, Norm |

Looks righteous to me too Don. I know you will be a great custodian for this piece of history. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Glad you described the magazine, I don't know Navies and for a second I though you had shoved a "dishonest" MecGar in there. Congratulations, a very handsome Navy
