Default Repro Artillery Stock

I have a very well made repro artillery luger board stock. I believe that the wood is beech. The fit of the pistol attachment is very well done. The attachment blueing and the wood finish is excellent.

The stock came in a labeled cardboard box. The label manufacturer is "International Marketing Company, S.A." with a globe superimposed with "INTERMARCO."

Could this stock have been made by or for Mauser in the 1970s?

Is it possible that Interarms of Alexandria, Virginia may have been involved?

I believe that there was a short posting or maybe an article addressing quality made repro Luger board stocks in the 1970s.

Maybe it is my wishful thinking.

Dick I believe if you check that the superimposed text is "INTERARMCO" Which, yes, it was sold by Interarms, in Alexandria. They were pretty good quality as I recall. (After all that was LAST century!)

Dick, your description of the stock leads me to think it is one of those sold by Odin International. Is the box color light blue?

"INTERMARCO" is a better match for "International Marketing Company, S.A."

George, the box is a light blue color. The box is as nice as the stock, well made heavy cardboard with the top connected and folds over the bottom.

Thanks Dick. That's an Odin International stock. The company is also known for having imported the 1936 dated Mauser LP08s from Thailand. Their stocks for the LP08 and P04 are considered by many to be the best of all after market Luger stocks. I believe that the stocks were made in Spain.

Dick/George - Are there any Odin identifying marks that would help out any of us looking for this stock on eBay or GB???

And like Don asked: How about pictures???

There are no markings on the wood or metal pistol attachment. There are no predrilled screw hole for mounting a holster. The stock is of the length and style for the artillery model. As stated above, I believe the wood is beech and the fit and finish are excellent.

I pulled out a repro navy rig that I assembled years ago and compared the stocks. The navy stock is shorter with a mounted property disc. The navy repro stock is the same quality fit and finish. Probably the same manufacturer.

I thought the holster and stock always came together and were used together?

This created a bit of a stir between Interarms and Mauser, as Interarms had the exclusive right to use the Mauser trade mark in the USA at that time.

There is some harsh correspondence in the Mauser archives about these ODIN stocks.

Sarco purchased the Odin LPO8 stocks that remained when Interarms went out of business. Sarco is still selling them. TH

Are these the ones for $44 without the iron, or $100 complete?

Seems the " very old $44 ones are now out of stock".

Yes I believe the 44 dollar stocks were part of that.... Back in the late 80's I had tables at a Road Island gun show another dealer had some of these he was looking to move Them they were in pale blue boxes with a letter I believe showing Mauser authorized the use of their logo and a flyer like the add in shot gun news I ended up buying 4 of them @ 40 bucks each wish I could have bought more I sat on these until the late 90s when I put them up on eBay one at a time .... At that time if memory serves they brought in 350.00 a piece ... So they were a good investment ....I had purchased 2 Artillery & 2 navy stocks all were well made and fit the Luger with out any modification/fitting as found with some of the repro stocks
Produced today.
