Early P08 Holster - Help ID Please
I've had this holster for a while and have been unable to get any information on this piece.
It is a faded brown and the back is stamped with a large P.08 with a Ww over Hr inside a circle. Below this is the early eagle proof and below this looks like Hr5. I was told it may be a scarce holster. Who made the holster? What year was it made? Who would have carried this (police, army, etc.)? Thank you for any help. |

Army style holster with WaA 5, so likely used by the Army.
P08 would indicate made after 1938(?).

Don,
Thanks for the information. Where is the WaA stamp? I'm not sure what I'm missing. Does the Ww mean Waffenwerke? Does Hr mean Heers Reichswehr? Thank you again for all of your help and your time, Michael |

those are unknown markings to me - perhaps others know, but I haven't seen them before....

I don't recognize the manufacturer stamp. It is a WW2 holster made after 1940 since the PO8 on the back was started in 1941, There were many holster manufacturers during both Wars and not all of them have been identified. This I expect was an Army issue. Generally these holsters are valued on condition and not by manufacturer. There are exceptions such as Krieghoff and Navy. I will keep looking in my references . Maybe someone on here is familiar with the stamps. Bill

I called the eagle with whatever 5 under it a WaA stamp. I do believe it is the equivalent. In the Weimar era an Aa with number was used, transitioning to the Wa we are familiar with; perhaps the marking on your holster is a transition ?

Holster was made in 1941 or later, due to the "P08" marking.
I don't recognize the proof marking, or the logo mark though? Matt |
