Colt Government Model 1911
Hi folks,
This is my first 1911 and my second collectable .45 ever (the other one was an Ithaca M1911A1 that I “rescued” as showed in another topic). As you know, it is a commercial Government Model, that was reblued (not a bad work in my opinion) that I had a new set of grips installed - but I kept the worn original ones). According to “Colt Autos” site, it was made in 1916. Any kind of 1911 is very hard to find down here, and the few I had seen are weary WWII reworked pistols. The gun was dirty cheap (around US$ 500.00) as the seller needed the money to cover other expenses. I got it in a blink. In spite of the above mentioned issues, I am very happy with this one, that now sits in my collection together with my Ithaca M1911A1. Sorry for my bad pictures, but I was very anxious to take some shots. Hope you enjoy it. Douglas. |

Great. It's a super popular pistol in the US. An iconic weapon.
