Default Fake Navy Eagle/M Stamp?

This Navy Eagle/M is on a 42 BYF. Do you think it is a fake given sources say that use of this stamp ended sometime in 1940? Is the inventory # also fake? If so, someone has gone to a lot of trouble of faking a WWII Navy, while ruining a BYF at the same time.

Totally out of sequence N number to boot.
Why- someone out for an easy $$ or three.

It was a lot more fun back in the day when it would be a fake skull or swastika.

Default It's not too late!

With a small hammer, a few light taps, and the right stamps you can make it a Navy, SS, Luftwaffe police, carrier officers Luger!!!! ... It has the same value from here on out either way!.......til...lat'r....GT
