1914 Erfurt artillery
Greetings, just received this 1914 Erfurt. It has been reblued & restrawed. Everything matches except for the magazine.
What are your thought's & how much does the refinish effect it's collectability? Thanks in advance Rob |

Rob:
Nice looking Erfurt artillery. It would be interesting to know how bad it was prior to refinish, but they did a pretty good job of not buffing it to death. It is certainly not as collectible as if it were in the original finish, but it is still a nice example of a fairly rare gun. I'll let others throw out dollar figures, but start watching places for original finish Erfurts and you will have a better idea where you stand. dju |

The all matching is a definite plus. However, the reblue automatically drops it to shooter status and therefore it is probably worth somewheres around $1200-$1800 range, maybe on higher side of that since it is a rarer model being an Erfurt artillery instead of the more common DWM. That said it looks really nice!

They buffed most of the collectability off of it. It is a shame, as with the unit mark, it would have been more valuable in the rougher condition. John

It is a nice looking Erfurt Arty luger. It would be a nice shooter quality Luger for me, as the collectability is no longer there. There are spots where it was buffed pretty hard.....likely because of rust pits, or corrosion. Nice strawing from what I can see. If the bore is good, then you should have a fun range gun that will definitely draw attention.
