Age of members on the forum?
We had a previous Poll, but it was actually started so long ago that I’ve probably hit a new age bracket :-) so we are going to start a new one and we’ll see how many people can be serious and like it but, Many folks get all weird about their age.
NOTE: Nobody can see your choice unless you make a remark in the section below and state your age, the poll is hidden to all, even moderators . |

Ed, you have two age groups overlaping in your poll.
I'll be 61 come June. --------------------- ((Ed notes - easier to write here then put in a new posting - changed it to 61 so I would not skew the posting too much )) Last edited by Edward Tinker; 03-18-2018 at 12:42 PM. |

I'm 22 and started shooting when I was 6. Always have been fascinated by early autoloading pistols, particularly Lugers, and finally managed to get my hands on a good one in January. Signed up for here shortly afterwards and have been trying to soak up the wealth of knowledge every day since.

Live every moment to the fullest! Time goes by with the blink of an eye! We don't own our lugers but only have a momentary right of possession! "Ten years have gone behind you! No one told you when to run. You miss the starting gun!! Pink Floyd 1973! Eric

We are only mortal for a little while
Closer to the 61 end than the 51 end of the bracket.

It appears to that collectors don't have the ability to really get into this hobby until the age of 50. I wouldn't be surprised if the Colt and Winchester folks are not seeing the same demographics.

I started around the age of 35. And as I got older and my circumstances changed I was able to do more in this field. This is not a cheep hobby to jump into. I see young folks express interest in this field but the ability isn't there yet. That's what dreams are made of.

I count myself extremely lucky to be in a situation where I was financially able to afford one (and that was a stretch!) at my age. Otherwise a thing I note in my collegiate classes is that even amongst history majors, there is a pervasive feeling that Lugers are an embodiment of evil due to their strong association with the 3rd Reich. Factor that in along with their relative cost and very few people my age are interested in trying to go out and get one. That said, they all do oogle and awe over mine when they see it or pictures of it.

I'm kind of close to Tom's story...I will hit 79 in July and I bought my first Luger 61 years ago. Still trying to defy gravity and Father Time.
