Great~ If you don't have a takedown tool, An easier was is to insert an empty mag and pull back the slide.It will remain open until you sllde back for the second time and remove your mag!! A lot easier!!

Eric, you'll notice that Brad used the takedown tool as a lever to get the takedown lever moving. Betcha that's pretty tricky if using a mag. That, and the grip screw!

Sorry that wasn't clear. I was posting an alternate way. His needs a barrel pull back to elevate the lever which is often hard with his way if you don't pullback the frame. Please try with the mag inserted and pull down the lever. It will be much more easy. Then remove the side plate. Easy!! Then slide if back! No need for tool or screwdriver and no damage left using a screwdriver. A post stroke alternative~ Please try it, You will like it my friend! Eric
