Hugh Clark passing away?

Hello to all, I just read on Facebook that our very highly respected forum member Hugh Clark has just recently passed away? He was an outstanding gentleman and talent, and I for one will miss him... My prayers for his family in this trying time... best to all, til...lat'r...GT

I never met the man, but he did some grip work for me and it was outstanding. He will be missed by many....RIP

Sad to hear my dear friend and Luger expert Hugh Clark passed away this morning. He was monumental in putting the " icing on the cake" on my Luger restorations with his fanstastic and unbelievably amazing Luger grip work. He was very generous with his talents and just a terrific person. I was blessed to have the wonderful restored grip work included in my work. I did a few Lugers for Hugh as well. I loved it, when I got a phone call from him. I got to meet him in person at a Luger convention at Ralph Shattuck's World of Lugers for members of the lugerforum.com. Also had a great sense of humor to be pair with outstanding craftsmanship. He had his own shooting range and used to do a lot of field tests on Lugers especially the 30 Luger. I am honored and blessed to have known this fine man. Rest in Peace my friend, Rest in Peace. BEFORE and AFTER to pay him tribute. THE BEST He was! Amazing person! (Copied from my Facebook post)

Hugh knew how. Not only technically, but in a human way as well; never stood on a pedestal, always very freely giving; treated everyone dearly.

I emailed with him in early days about a baby(7 shot) Luger. A few weeks passed. The mail showed up with a spring and special parts for controlling the recoil spring assembly, new custom spring and strut. I told him that I would even out, he just kinda laughed a don't worry type laugh. Hugh was a guy that was free with with knowledge and did not beat you with it, a slowly disappearing breed.

I will miss him.

Very sad to hear. Always good advice. Guess that is why he sold me that navy for a great price. He also offered me a built 1900 for a fair price. Sad to say I replied this week accepting the 1900. I would not have if I knew he passed away.

This saddens me, I met him a couple of times and dealt with him on numerous trades.

I had the pleasure of visiting Hugh at his home in the swamp land of east Texas. Hugh was always very helpful and informative not just with Lugers but life in general.
I pray that Our Lord welcomes Hugh into Heaven.

I had the opportunity to visit with Hugh at his home just west of Beaumont. I had contacted him regarding his sharing of knowledge about checkering; he was very willing to assist and invited me to his home. It was an enjoyable and productive visit—- I learned a great deal about checkering and several little tricks in working on Luger grips in particular. I was able to see his collection and to learn some of his views about life. A very pleasant and talented craftsman. He will indeed be missed.
