Different barrel lengths
I've noticed on the Simpson web site some Artillery Lugers are listed with 7.9 in barrels and some with 8 in barrels. Thoughts?

It’s because the barrels are 200 mm. So it just depends on if you want to round up or not when you convert to inches. Measure your own artillery luger(s) to find out which is more accurate if possible.

Barrel lengths are measured from the front of the barrel to the back of the chamber, so the easiest and most accurate way to measure it is to put a rod down the barrel until it touches the breech block then mark the rod at the front end of the barrel and measure that distance. That will give you darned close to 8-inches for your LP08 barrel.

A common variation to LPO8 barrel length on some matching Artilleries. is the cutting off of about 1/2" from the front of barrel. This was done at the rear of front sight base, due either to a frozen adjustable front sight or damage to the front of bore, and the front sight base would be re-installed or a new C96 fixed front sight added. Tom,
I have owned one of those shortened LP08s in the past, and it came with a short LP08 holster that appeared to have been originally made that way. Ron
