Default Ramblings

Food for thought or the rambling of an old man.
I think it is amazing ,with the advent of forums and online communications, how much information we have obtained about our lugers.
That being said I also think we have passed on misinformation. Something stated in response to a question ,while probably only a guess or an opinion can soon become a fact. We need to make sure our responses , unless they are a fact , are indicated as a guess/ opinion. We need all the ideas and feedback we can get just be specific about the validity of the information offered.
Back to my warm milk and prune juice. Bill

I agree with you.

One advantage of the Internet is that I made friends and then went and saw them (like you)

I know I have given misinformation and I have felt (as an example) that I was showing a rebuke / refinish and experts all told me I was wrong. .... vut from even the best monitors, its hard to tell

Bill you are quite right.

Too many posters forget that what we think we "know" is usually only "opinion".
I for one try to remember to put JMHO, or IMO on many responses where I rely on general info and no specific reference.
Even a specific reference can be to someone else's opinion.
As someone pointed out, just because we have not seen something before does not mean it
never, cannot, or did not exist or happen. JMHO!

Stating opinion as fact is the way "common incorrect knowledge" is spread and continued.
And sometimes it is just "disremembering" without re-checking the "book".

Bill you're are absolutely right, unfortunately on the Net we find a lot of "information" but also as much "disinformation", and this is true on all fields, not only on our Lugers.

Bill I wish you a very good 2020 !!
