Nice job on the pictures!
I'd say that it has to be a collector piece- even with a couple warts- matching mags and
holster offset any "downside to me".

Exc set of photos. Your 1921 DWM Police luger appears to be all matching, including the police marked holster and both magazines. I expect that the sear and mag safeties were added later and cut off in the 1930s when the 2 matching Schmeisser patent mags were added. Definately a collector grade rig. TH

Default Police Luger

Very nice Police Luger. In the book by Donald Maus - History Writ in Steel it shows your Luger with the marking on the front grip strap
S.D.VI.470 is from Schupo Command of the Dusseldorf District.
The 470 is the weapon number.
You did a great job on cleaning up the holster. What did you use to clean it up so well?

Nice gun with accessories, thanks. I also would like to know what you used on the holster.

Default Holster Conditioning

When Jerry Burney talks about holsters and how to deal with them I listen.

On a cookie sheet inserted into a preheated 350 degree oven and baked for 5 minutes, then oven turned off not opening the door until its completely cooled (for mold)

Acetone to clean years of dirt and grime off

Connolly to make the holster happy

This one didn't need any repair its fully intact including the pull up strap

Looks like you got yourself a beautiful collector's piece. I can just imagine what it will look like after cleanup! The holster almost looks new! Nice job cleaning it up. The only thing I saw that wasn't matching was the grips but maybe they didn't stamp them in that time period. The experts can answer that one I'm sure. Also it might increase value to have the left grip with the missing chip fixed. There's someone on this forum that can do that so maybe he will chime in.

The “slot” on the top leading edge of the left grip is not a “chip” but rather a channel for the mag safety.

Default Magazine Safety

This mag safety has the tabs ground off to make it inoperable, most were ground off or removed altogether.
I believe the part was made by Walther and available to police around 1933, the police guys can correct me if I'm wrong about that.
Thanks for the interest.

Thanks Jim,
Lesson learned - should have looked more closely at the safety before posting.

Nice Rig! Bore looks great!

Question: How can one tell if the SD mark is Schupo Dusseldorf or Schupo Dresden? I ask because I have a 1921 DWM marked S.D.

Great job on the holster!

Default Dresden mark

Thanks for the comments.
There are many here who are experts in police markings, I am not.
from whati have found out I think Dresden marked their pistols with S.P.D. and a not S.D. like Dusseldorf
i would ask someone to correct this if it is wrong, Thanks.
