Default Commercial production in 9mm

Is there an estimate of the quantity of commercial pistols produced in 9mm caliber prior to the end of WW1?

Thanks,

Greg,

No.

Documentary evidence has vanished. Published authors aver the number of New Model 9mm and commercial P08s without source. It is all guesswork based on the thinnest of sample reporting. Statistically the sample is so small as to be meaningless, and sample distribution is unguessable.

Thank you Dwight. My reason in the question relates to the popularity of the "new" 9mm cartridge. Was it increasing in use since the German army and navy adopted the caliber? I viewed the serial database, that lead me to the question. The war undoubtedly limited the availability of private sales in that caliber. Does that make a Parabellum in 9mm scarce or rare?

German officers were required to buy their own sidearms thus most, if not all, 9mm commercial Lugers of the period were officer private purchase weapons.
