Default Reproduction Dutch Magazine bases

As the owner of a pre-WW1 Dutch contract luger, which came without an original magazine, and due to their rarity, I never thought I would be in a position to add a Dutch magazine to the collection.

It was therefore with great interest that, at the end of October, I read in a post on the forum that that ‘G.T.’ is able to make reproduction Dutch magazine bases. As the post was an old one, I dropped G.T. a private message, to ask if he was still able to produce reproduction Dutch magazine bases.

In G.T.’s reply, I was pleased to read that he was, and he added, “I have an original tube, very nice condition, but it has two sets of retaining pin holes in addition to the small spring arresting slot on the rear spine? Options being, I can install a Dutch new made bottom and we just leave the holes as they are, part of history”.

Having read the glowing reviews of G.T.’s work, I readily agreed to his recommendation and commissioned him to go ahead with the project.

So, I was waiting with anticipation when the package from Arizona arrived in the mail yesterday and I was more than please with the finished item, see below.

G.T. is a craftsman and a gentleman, it has been a real pleasure to do business with him. I would not hesitate to recommend G.T. to others, and indeed go back to him myself, with other possible projects.
