Default 1920 DWM Army

A friend recently purchased this 1920 dated luger and was asking me about it. I recently purchased a 1921 that I'll post up in a separate thread, but in my readings over the last few weeks I discovered that the majority of lugers produced during that time period (about 80% of the 50 thousand or so made) went to the police, although Army inspectors were used to accept the pistols initially. It makes coming across an Army only luger of that time a little more difficult.

I did not see any evidence of police use, however, the only issue seems to be that the halos are not there on the barrel SN's. Everything else, from what I can tell, indicates this pistol went directly to the Army after acceptance. Any thoughts?

It also came with a 1918 dated holster with a couple of unusual stampings that I'd appreciate any input on.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Pretty thing. Looks original to me. Matching magazine is a big plus. Nice holster too. The markings on the front are a mystery to me. The marking on the rear is who made it, and when and where.

The finish looks original to me as well...however, the missing halos around the barrel are a concern. As is the magazine, maybe. Does it appear to have a suffix, whereas there doesn't seem to be one on the frame. Definitely not a police magazine, but not quite sure about the numbering and possible suffix.

The holster markings on the front are the mystery...some letter combination in a box and the 'L A'.
