Need help identifying possible police p38
I got a p38 recently with a nice hans rohmer softshell holster and 2 mags, the pistol is in great condition and was said to be a police p38 due to the eagle l marking. Everything I can tell seems good accept the eagle l marking on the left side seems blurry or double stamped and there is an eagle n marking on the other side which seems conflicting. Can anyone lend any information? Also sorry if the color is weird I had remaster these photos on my phone so it would convert them to jpeg

Closer look at l stamp. At some angles it's real clear but at other angles looks like it might be convering another stamp or double stamped

Eagle "L" should be a police gun.

Not seeing it. Might just be a "double" stamp or the stamp "bounced" when struck. Pretty sure they were stamped by hand.

Hopefully it can be seen in this pic once it's uploaded. You have to zoom in really close though

It is clear to me it is an Eagle L double stamped. I have a double stamped Eagle C on a Walther PP (see pic) though not quite as bad. I can see why it almost looks like and Eagle L stamped over and Eagle b.

Interesting! Yeah cause I'm fully aware of the eagle F, Eagle L, And Eagle C variants but I've never seen anything with a lower case b except for the softshell holster that came with the gun which was a Hans rohmer holster is referred to as a Stamped Eagle- b holster which is interesting.
I love that c stamped pp. I have a PP with wood pressed grips with and eagle F on it |

Eagle "L" overstamped on top of an Eagle"C"? Maybe?

I'm thinking he's eight and it's just a double stamp cause close up you can see the L matches the shape of the other stamp, and if it was a c it would be pointing the other way and not look like a lower case b
