My Latest P08 !!

Hello,

My latest P08......one I'm most proud of as it was a long & hard search.......But here is:

Mauser 41-42 SN 9365n all original, nice rich deep dark bluing, E/655 Proofs, proofed grips, non matching mag but correct ( Frank ? ) 122 Code FXO mag ( not the one displayed in the photo...)

Pistol produced in January 1941 and is in the correct SN range. It represents the last produced 42 toggle Mauser P08s as they went forward with the BYF toggle coding at that time...

This Variation is special to me as those 41-42 ( 7000 produced ) were for the most part sent to the Russian front for the Stalingrad battle.....which represents, some say, the turning point in WWII.....

I am VERY HAPPY to have this great find in my Collection NOW !!!

* A 122 code, extruded mag fits the "n" block & this '41/42 just right.
* The 122 coded mag starts in the 1940/42's & ends in the early '41 byf's.
* Congratulations & I'll be standing in line right behind GT.

Hey Mark, super nice find!! Congratulations!!

As Bob said the 122, E/37 Magazine is certainly proper for your new beauty. While these have a center pin magazine bottom, they are not stamped fxo!! Some of the last 41, Code 42 Lugers may have had the "fxo" numbered bottom magazines, the N-Block would most probably have the 122 numbered bottoms!

BTW, did I tell you how happy I am for you!!

I had one identical to it, several years ago. Bought it at a gun show. Back when, to me, a Luger was just another pistol to plink with. Another of many regrets. Very nice!
