The darkness of your photos make it difficult to determine if the gun was ever restored or refinished, but for a 1910 Luger, the "strawing" of the small parts seems almost too good to be true, so maybe the small parts were restrawed...

One nice lookin' Luger!

Wish it were in my gunsafe!

It is a very nice original totally correct 1910. You can even see the upset metal around the proof where the holdopen was added. A real prize. Sure wish I knew what the 108 on the grip strap was for, but outside of maybe being a rack number, I haven't a clue. You are really lucky to find such an early piece in that nearly pristine condition.

According to the (dark) images, it looks good to me and in very fine conditon. Definitely a keeper.

The added holdopen pin looks to be "in the white" where it protrudes through the frame to the outside, a clear indication that it has not been reblued post-installation. A truly spectacular piece!

Could y'all expand on the 'hold-open'? I know what it does but don't know where or how it's installed, or where on the picture to see it's pin. Thanks

The holdopen is inside the gun and is operated by the follower button on the magazine...

When the last shot is fired, Or if you open the gun with an empty magazine in it, the hold open is pressed up and catches a notch on the underside of the breechbolt...

The holdopen became standard on the Luger but was not on the early models... many were refitted to include the holdopen including yours.

This photo cropped from your larger photos shows where the frame was drilled and the pin inserted on which the holdopen pivots...

Here is a shot of the inside of a Luger and where the holdopen sits by the top of the magazine well...

Take the top off your Luger and insert an empty magazine slowly and when the magazine seats you will see the holdopen pressed to the "UP" position ... You can also see the notch on the underside of the bolt with the top half removed.
