Hermann,
Difficult to comment on without pictures/descriptions. But if you approach it from the 'shooter-grade' side, anything bought under 400USD is a steal I shouldn't go over over 700USD per gun. |

Thanks!
I´m sure the last two are the most collectibles ( from these four, no real rarity ). This is going to be my first 08. I have a Nazi HP with tangent sight, with holster and two fitting mags, all stamped, a good P 38 ac 42 and the "license two collect". As an European you will understand: got my license extended to more guns, so now I am able to collect. I feel somewhat drawn to the 7.65mm. Ammo is not a problem, as I don´t want to shoot excessively, I will try to get 250 Fiocci JSP´s, that should do fine. Any infos about that Mauser pistol with the high serial number? What year of manufacture? Is a patridge type sight ( top is square ) possible to be original in a commercial Luger of ?? year manufacture? I know "sets" raise steeply, so pistol with holster will be expensive. I will bid on any of them, as long as price is reasonably, of course will stop and not buy all, if I really get one. Again: thanks for your general suggestions, I would buy any happily for 450, 600 is a bit high, as there will be 30% added ... I mean you most surely are right about the prices, I just wanted to tell about my financial limitations. Good shooting, Hermann |

This is an after-market front sight.
In the USA, and much of the English speaking world, what you call "sets" are called "rigs"...

Hi Hermann,
The Mauser Parabellums are the post-1970 Mauser production, loosely based on the Swiss machines they bought from the WF Bern. The early versions (pre-1972) look almost exactly like the 1929 Swiss model, the later versions were changed to look more like the original P08. The serial number for 7.65mm versions starts with 10, the serial number for 9mm versions with 11. The Mauser box and warranty seal only mention the last part of the number, so this one should have a box numbered 14602 (both sides) and a Mauser warranty seal with the same number. They are well-made pistols, with the Swiss U-shaped rear sight and a slightly coarsed surface in the 'ears'. Finish is deep black and very nice. The gun should have the production year stamped on the area above the takedown-lever, when it was proofed in Germany. pre-1973 has a 2-digit year code (ie 72 for 1972), post-1973 has a 2-letter date year. Look in the 'postwar' forum for a thread on Mauser parabellums (or Interams). I'd guess this particular Mauser dates from the early 80s. |

Hi to all!
First one went over â?¬ 550 - and add to that 30%. The second one I bought, bid was â?¬ 320, giving a total of â?¬ 415. The third one went for ~ â?¬ 400 ( bid ), could have bought it, but perhaps it would then gone much higher. I´m not greedy, one Luger a day is enough ;-). Its a as new Mauser Parabellum, seems hardly fired, in box, two mags, one with wood imitation? bottom, both with Mauser ton on back side. With dummy rounds, gun functioned fine, feeds, dents dummies, ejects, good trigger. Aside from the frame being somewhat rough, its all blued ( or strawed ), very shiny, hardly any shooting signs. Safety and grip safety went very strong, lubed this, still strong and no marks of engaging/disengaging manipulation scratches. Bought 200 rds Lapua 124 grs FMJ, VO 320 m/s ( marked so on box ), the "Luger" load. Will shoot it this week, 2 x 8 rds Lapua, 2 x 4 rds S & B 115 grs JSN ( not too hot ), using both mags. Then I will decide about the front sight - try to "recant", exchange for new sight, higher new sight and flatten it for kinda post front sight? Rear U is very narrrow, don´t want to open this up. I think this is a shooter, but a fine and durable one, 70´s steel and peacetime manufacture, hardly any rounds through it, no war time abuse. Or, as one of the last made, and being so new, is there a small collector interest? There is a second safety lying by - ??? don´t know why, don´t know what to do with it. Will send pics, if anyone would post pictures. Have not made this in the commercial section, as to correctly end above thread with prices. Good shooting, Hermann |

Hi Hermann,
If you look in the postwar-part, there is a nice thread about interarms and mauser parabellums, if you have pictures, I'd love to see them attached to that thread. These guns are getting a collector's value slowly now. Don't discard the box or anything the gun came with. Will provide some extra value in years to come. |
