And again, when I shipped it back to him last week. A 1917 Erfurt, I believe these are Nill-Griff grips. Thor

Outstanding Thor! I think your strawing takes on more of the Gold color becasue of the polish. Is that true?

Becasue mine is a shooter - shooter, I just left mine as I gound them. I did use a little cheese cloth on the safety but other than that left the strawed parts as is. The cheese cloth removed some of the nicks on the frame.

The answer to your question is NO. I do not intend to go into the Luger restoration business. I'm going to leave the professional work to you.

I think a lot of guys and gals would like to know how to fix little things that bother them. Glad to see you moderating this part of the forum.

Dadgummit Ted!

You keep on posting the results of you fantastic handiwork and I'm gonna go out and buy the first clunker I see and ship it to you pronto! You seem to be able to work miracles.

(per our recent e-mails, I'm not far away from finding the shooter I want to send to you!)

Greg

Thor,

What sort of money does a job like this require?

I have a mismatch that does not have surface pitting like the photo but someone did a heavy handed job of grinding the DWM logo off the toggle.

Amazing makeover, Ted. Can't imagine how you removed that pitting without distorting the shape of the barrel.

Here's to you . . .

Unspellable, please see my website for current pricing, I would recommend replaceing the toggle with a new DWM or perhaps reengraving the old one. The replacement toggle will make the job go really much faster, As it stands right now, I am very open for new work and can turn around most standard jobs in a couple of weeks like I did David's. My website is at http://members.rennlist.com/lugerman/ and prices as well as references from clients, costs and more pictures are included. Thanks for the inquiry. And thanks to Luke for the kind words! I love my job.

Thor, my 37 shooter has the same 'X' stamped in the same place. The info I have found is that this means it was found to be unsafe and was destined for the meltdown furnace. I have fired mine a lot and so far nothing has happened. Do you have any different info on the 'X'?

I have shot lots of them with Xs and seen no problems of course many have parts switched out which MIGHT have removed the reason for the X.
