Swiss Cross Luger Take-Down Tool...?
In both Jan C. Still's book, Third Reich Lugers, on page 230 and Euguene Bender's book, Luger Holsters & Accessories of the 20th. Century, on page 486; are some photos of luger take-down tools with a swiss-cross stamping.
I contacted my Swiss aniques dealer in Switzerland, Mr. Andrew Zink; asking him if he might have some for sale. Andrew e-mailed me back stating that he checked with many dealers and collectors in Switzerland; and none are aware that such tools were issued by the Swiss military or police. Would like to get some of the Forum folks' opinions...it seems like the tools shown in both of these great luger books were in collections of some notable collectors... At last month's Reno Gun Show, Mr. Bob Lewis' excellent swiss luger display also had several of these swiss cross marked tools. I did send Andrew some photo scans out of the two books I mentioned and he promised to continue his searching in Switzerland. Regards, Pete... <img src="graemlins/yltype.gif" border="0" alt="[typing]" /> |

Pete,
I have been trying for years to get a gentleman from Carlsbad New Mexico to sell me a takedown tool with a Swiss Cross and the number 39. Still no luck, but I will keep trying.
