Numbers
Hi,
I'm trying to date my Luger collection. Does anyone know where to find a correspondence table between the s/n of Swiss army Lugers (1900, 00/06 & 06/29) and the year of manufacture? Thanks. |

Hello Panda,
Welcome to the Luger Forum !!! The swiss luger book by V. Bobba has an excellent serial number table for all DWM-Swiss and W+F Bern swiss lugers. The book runs around $ 100.00, is over -sized, is written in both Italian and English, as has some really great color photos of the nicest Swiss lugers around... Drop me a note at my e-mail address (at : [email protected]) with your return e-mail address and I can scan & send those pages to you as jpeg files... The only "condition" is that you need to post some photos of your swiss lugers so we can all admire them... p.s. Inside your 06/29 W+F Bern, in the front frame well where the take down lever shaft runs, you will see some numbers stamped. For example : "6.40" would indicate your 1929 Bern was made in June of 1940... Regards, Pete... <img border="0" alt="[typing]" title="" src="graemlins/yltype.gif" /> |

Another excellent reference to Swiss serial numbers/procurement is Fred Datig's " The Swiss Variations 1897-1947". I have these available @$15 each + $5 S&h. Tom H.
