General Luger Values
Although I own several Lugers and have several Luger books (Luger Handbook, Lugers at Random, The Luger Story, The Luger Pistol, etc.), I really don't have a good idea of what some of the Lugers I see offered on the internet auctions are worth and whether or not I should bid. I know many of the members have such knowledge, but is there a publication which might give me some idea of the price range(s) of the various Luger categories? Thanks for any suggestions.

Hello Steve,
Each year the folks at Blue Book, Inc. put out a guns value book. It is the "Kelly Blue Book" for gun values, for both new and used guns. http://www.bluebookinc.com You can also look at web sites such as Bob Simpson's http://www.simpsonltd.com/lugerrm.htm or Ralph Shattuck's http://www.worldoflugers.com/index.htm or Doug Smith's http://fgsinc.8m.com/index.html or Bob Adam's http://www.adamsguns.com/ to get an idea for what asking prices from dealers are. {EBT helped a bit} Most dealers ask more than private party buys (if you can find them...)
