My Luger
I have joined this Forum to see if I can get some info on my Luger which my Step Father brought back from WWII.I have been thinking of passing it on to someone in the family but have become curious as to it's value.
It is a 1940, Serial #2216 and all the parts have 16 on them, the wooden grips are excellent (not stained) and the bore looks perfect to me although I am gun ignorant. On the front of the trigger guard just below the serial # appears a .The 2 clips I have also have 16 on them and I have some 1940, and 1943 ammo. The Luger is a uniform dark blue all over. Next week I will have my digital camera back and try to put some pictures up showing the various marking. On the right side are 2 three winged symbols with 655 uder them followed by an eagle symbol. Sorry this info is so general but just wanted to see if I'm getting out to anyone? Thanks Crowsnest |

From the brief description, I'd take a wild guess and say it's a Code 42 Mauser made 1940....which should go like this:
1940 date on the chamber, 42 marked toggle, all blued parts, last digits ( 16 ) of serial number on most parts.... PICS would be very helpfull! In any case, enjoy! It's a great pistol! kidvett |
