I have never encountered BAX in any form except ink stamped.

This is a first for me too. The die stamped holster is in excellent condition and was picked up from a dealer who gaurantees originality. I have never had a problem returning an item I questioned. I hate to return a holster that looks correct except for the BAXVII die stamp. It smells and looks all original and excellent workmanship throughout. If a repro it is the best I've seen. Why go through the trouble to make a die when an ink stamp is simple to make?

Panzersoldat,
I agree with your assessment; based on the relative rarity of the maker and the hithertofore unseen die stamped BAX, I tend to suspect the holster is bogus. Would be curious as to who the dealer is. Tom A. |

Don't mean to disagree with anyone, but on page 57 of Imperial Lugers there is a B.A. XV 1910 stamped, not inked. A friend of mine when I asked said that he has seen a couple of stamped, not inked markings.

Thanks Ed,
Good to know someone has documented these. Panzersoldat, you have a very nice piece of leather. Tom A. |
