Shooting Underwater II
Gentlemen,
I posted a thread about this subject a couple of months ago and got a lot of responses but not any firsthand information. For background information: I live and boat on the gulf coast of FL and routinely carry a .44 Ruger SS Blackhawk while out on the water. I have hooked, but not landed, sharks. Also, I do have occasion to motor up the Peace River which is heavily infested with alligators. I intend to stay aboard my boat, but who knows? If underwater in a life or death situation I decided I would fire the .44 underwater if the need arose. Now I find there is a video available on this topic. The Nov.-Dec. issue of American Handgunner advertises a video from www.gunvideo.com on this topic. They tested 9 handguns including Glock, 1911, S&W, etc. The video supposedly covers function, cycling, effective bullet travel, concussion, etc. Has anybody seen this video? ($31 including shipping) As most of you have noticed by now, I am a shooter, not a firearms student. I would rather spend my $$ on ammo (and guns, including shooter Lugers) than on videos. Evidently underwater shooting tests have been done extensively from what this video advertises and from previous comments about a SOF article.

Al,
No matter what the video says is possible, my advice is to stay in the boat! <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />
