Knowing that you have forgotten more about Luger leather than I will ever know, I for one always appreciate your opinion.
Thanks Jerry. dju |

David, Thanks for the kind words..This holster first off was not made during the period it seemingly represents. That's only one reason I believe the thread will light up under a blacklight. Any commercial holster made during the period these were made for the military would be made BETTER than a military..not worse. This thing has oddities that can only be found in modern made holsters. Not period made holsters. German saddlers just didn't produce this kind of crap. I WISH I had the time to point out each and every point..but sadly I do not.

Howard, You are entirely correct though..the moon was on fire last night..blood red. And in the end it did indeed fall from the sky! I saw it all.
As for your holster..You asked, I answered. It's just an opinion. An accurate one, one I would bet my last dollar on. Honestly..If I had some spare time I would pick that thing apart piece by piece, fault by fault..I quit counting at a dozen BAD faults. And I haven't even looked inside. It's a horrible fake some Pakistani made when he saw a picture of a Luger holster. Here's another thing I would bet on, you have not blacklighted it. No need to really..that thread would glow like the neon on the Vegas strip. Even if it's cotton and doesn't glow the rest of the holster is just crap. I cannot speak for George. If he says he has others JUST LIKE this one..they are fake too. I bend my knee to George Anderson..He knows more about Luger's than I ever will. I am no expert on many things..but I can tell you this..I KNOW what genuine original period made Luger holsters look like and are supposed to look like inside and out. It's the ONE thing I DO know. Anything else and I could be guessing or BSing or lying. This ONE subject ...I know my stuff Brother. Think otherwise at your own peril. Yes, get into something besides Luger's. Good idea.

Personally, I don't like the toe. It shouldn't be square..I stopped looking after that. I may be wrong but the holsters I used to have and the few I have left don't look like this.

Other details: The holster "lid" is made of too-thin leather, the pull up strap as well. The backside of the closure strap is unfinished, showing raised fibers.
This is a repro someone covered with a blanket and went to town on with a baseball bat, in an attempt to make it look old. |

Doug, All true! The closure strap is pointed wrong..Many others..as Steve says the toe is way funky..A poor attempt.
